OBG and Peadiatric Lab
This branch of medical science helps to understand the health issues whether it is physical, mental, psychological or spiritual related to children. In this department we provide comprehensive medical education keeping all aspects of pediatric medicine in mined as well as impart preventive, curative, promotive and health care knowledge about infant and children up to 18 years of age. It helps to learn the concepts of child health, trends in child care and health problems (tonsillitis, otitis media, protein energy malnutrition, accidents, spina bifida, and congenital heart disease).
The objective of the course is to prepare students to identify the normal growth and development of children and deviation from the normal, give comprehensive nursing care to children suffering from various diseases. Special emphasis is given to Embryology, Genetics, Psychology, Pediatric medicine, Surgery, Nutrition, and Growth and Development.
In order to enhance the knowledge and skill of the students, they are given clinical experience in pediatric medical and surgical wards apart from theory classes. The students also have the privilege of becoming familiar with the most sophisticated equipment and technology related to client care, especially in our Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Units, Pediatric Neurology, Gastroenterology, Adolescent Medicine, Neonatal and Pediatric ICU.
Child Health Nursing which prepares the students to develop expertise and indepth understanding in the field of Pediatric Nursing. It will help students to appreciate the child as a holistic individual and develop skill to function as neonatal and pediatric nurse specialist. It will further enable the student to function as educator, manager, and researcher in the field of Pediatric Nursing.
Department of child health nursing has a state of art and laboratory with simulatorfor practicing basic and advanced care delivery to the pediatric care seekers of various age groups.
