Diploma in Optometry
Optometry includes eye and related structures, as well as vision, visual systems & vision information processing in humans. Optometrists are primary health care providers for the Diagnosis, management and treatment of the Eye Diseases, Refractive disorders.
Diploma in optometry course applicants are acquainted with inspection and analyzing of numerous refractive conditions and oversee Optical guides, for example, Optical Glasses, Contact lenses and other Remedial guides.

Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria
- As per the norms of Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty, Lucknow,
- PCM/PCB (10+2) students can apply
- Must have 40% minimum marks in High School & Intermediate
- The candidate should have completed 17 years of age on 31st December of the year in which admission sought.
Selection Criteria
The students for the programme will be selected as per the norms of Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty, Lucknow & on the basis of the merit of 10+2 examination.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria required for applying to Paramedical course in India are:
1. Education eligibility criteria for admission to Diploma in Optometry(D.Opt.):-
The candidate must have PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) or PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) stream for admission into course.
- 10+2 with English & must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination & English individually from any recognized board.
- Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by state Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre.
- Students should be medically fit.
- Students shall be admitted once is a year.
- Age Should be completed 17 years (as on 31 December Of that year). The upper age limit 35 Years For G.N.M

Documents required while submitting application forms for Paramedical Programs:
Applicants are required to attach following documents with the application form:
- Mark sheet with Certificate of Class X and XII.
- Birth certificate
- Transfer and character certificate
- ID proof (Aadhar card)
- Domicile certificate
- Income Certificate
- Cast Certificate
- Gap Certificate (if needed)
- Passport Size Photographs(10)
Applicants are required to carry original documents along with the photocopies while submitting the application forms for verification. All documents should be attested by the gazetted officer or any other authorized officials. They should also carry 3 passport size photographs.
